The Nomad Grid designed to bring energy everywhere
ECOLIBOX is a new solution developed to generate renewable energy directly where it is needed.
A mobile, containerized power plant combining Ecolibrì wind technology with photovoltaic generation and energy storage, specifically conceived for remote areas, isolated communities, agricultural and productive activities, hospitality facilities and projects where access to the electricity grid is limited or unavailable.
One integrated energy system
ECOLIBOX combines:
- 10 kW Ecolibrì wind turbine
- 25 kWp photovoltaic system
- 30 kWh energy storage
- 40-foot container
By combining wind and solar power, ECOLIBOX makes it possible to exploit locally available renewable resources and generate electricity directly at the point of use.
Energy without boundaries
ECOLIBOX was developed around one simple concept: bring energy everywhere.
The system is designed for easy transportation by land or sea, rapid installation without permanent foundations, and the flexibility to be relocated whenever operational or energy requirements change.
Up to 60 MWh of energy per year
Under conditions comparable to those considered in the study for the Maputo area, ECOLIBOX can achieve an expected production of approximately 60 MWh/year. Actual production will naturally depend on the solar and wind resources available at the installation site.
This level of production can support a wide range of applications, from small communities and farming activities to livestock operations and hospitality facilities.
Powering sustainable development
ECOLIBOX has been conceived particularly for regions where reliable access to electricity remains an obstacle to economic and social development.
Generating electricity directly where it is used, by harnessing locally available renewable resources such as wind and sun, can support economic activities, essential services and community development while reducing CO₂ emissions. The concept is also aligned with the objectives of Italy’s Mattei Plan for Africa referenced in the project.
